Adara Ventures, Caixa Capital Risc, Inveready and Bankinter invest in PlayGiga, the Spanish cloud gaming technology platform.

Madrid, July 9th, 2015 – Adara Ventures, Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital company of “la Caixa”, Bankinter and Inveready have signed on as shareholders of PlayGiga to further fuel the company’s growth.

PlayGiga has developed a unique proprietary platform for real-time cloud delivery of interactive video games. The platform enables casual as well as high-end games to be played on devices (PC, Mac, TV, Tablet, Smartphone…) without the need to download software. Instead of processing commands on the player’s computer, on-demand gaming transmits clicks and text inputs for processing on the server. The server then sends back the game’s response to the gamer’s screen providing an experience identical to that of a next-generation console game.

“Essentially, PlayGiga would be the Netflix for games” says César Valencia, Founder, with an extensive experience in game development, adding:”PlayGiga represents a revolution in gaming similar to the disruption in the film or music industries caused by the instreaming technology. The user doesn´t need any longer a console or a high-end computer to play and has access to more games at a moderate cost”.

Meanwhile Juan Gili, PlayGiga´s General Manager comments that the new partners “strengthen and consolidate” the start-up. “The main objectives this year are to consolidate PlayGiga´s standing in the business, to complete successfully the pilot tests which are being carried out in Spain and Portugal and to develop our international expansion”.

PlayGiga will shortly market the platform in other territories in Europe, Latin America and China. By the end of 2014 PlayGiga signed a partnership agreement with an important strategic partner headquartered in Shenzhen. This agreement allows PlayGiga to benefit from their national (China) and international (Asia) marketing and sales channels.

Juan Gili adds:”PlayGiga is now placed at the forefront worldwide thanks to its ground-breaking technology. The support from Adara Ventures, Caixa Capital Risc, Inveready and Bankinter will be key to achieve the pole position”.
