Natac is a Spanish company specializing in the development of natural ingredients backed by scientific research to enhance their therapeutic efficacy with proven health benefits. Founded in 2010, it has operated on circular-economy principles since its inception, maximizing the use of underused raw materials.

The company stands out for its B2B model with direct client contact, without intermediaries, and for choosing the olive tree as its flagship ingredient — combining scientific rigor with deep roots in Spain, which has facilitated its international expansion.

Sustainability model

Sustainext, led by Natac together with European partners, is an initiative aimed at revolutionizing the plant-extract industry and becoming the model to follow for the rest of the bio-based industry. It will transform Natac’s plant in Hervás (Cáceres) into a biofactory built around the concepts of “zero waste” and “zero pollution.”

By maximizing biomass use, integrating renewable energy and promoting agrivoltaics, the project improves resource efficiency, reduces emissions and revitalizes rural economies. Sustainext also creates new jobs, contributes to the economic stability of rural areas, and supports the transition from tobacco to sustainable crops such as aromatic and medicinal plants (PAMs).

SDG alignment

  • Good health and well-being

Scientific development of natural ingredients with therapeutic applications, promoting natural alternatives in the livestock industry that reduce reliance on medication.

  • Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Building an innovative biofactory based on “zero waste” and “zero pollution” principles, integrating renewable energy and agrivoltaics.

  • Responsible Consumption and Production

A zero-waste dynamic biorefinery model that valorizes agricultural by-products and establishes a new European standard for the sustainable production of natural ingredients.

"With Sustainext, our goal is to increase the yield of plant extracts from 300 to 700 grams per kilogram, boosting efficiency while reinvesting resources in nature and supporting local employment."
